This monumental gold fly represents the polemic over what everyone longs for. The inspiration for this sculpture came from a poem by Adolf Heyduk and the fascination of the insect itself. A fly, so small, useless and annoying yet so beautiful if it’s possible to see it in detail under a microscope. A fascinating biological machine we are not able to perceive with the naked eye. And that’s why it’s been enlarged to a larger-than-life scale so we can admire every little detail and get the polemic developed when confronted. Polemic over inherent size and perhaps even happiness, so fragile, seemingly complicated yet so easy sometimes, when a person is able to perceive little things.
